Περίληψη

Το 1872, ο κ. Φιλέας Φόγκ, ένας αυστηρός Βρετανός κύριος, δέχεται την πρόκληση που έβαλαν οι σύντροφοί του στο κλαμπ των Μεταρρυθμίσεων για να αποδείξει ότι μπορεί κανείς να κάνει τον γύρο του κόσμου σε 80 ημέρες. Αποφασίζει να ταξιδέψει με τον υπηρέτη, τον Γάλλο Ζαν Πασπαρτούt. Την ίδια στιγμή, ο Ντετέκτιβ Φιξ κυνηγά έναν ληστή τράπεζας. Θα μπορούσε να είναι σύμπτωση ότι ο κ. Φογκ αποφάσισε να φύγει από τη χώρα την ίδια ακριβώς ώρα; Ο ντετέκτιβ Φιξ δεν το πιστεύει! Μέσα από την Ευρώπη, την Ινδία με τους ημιτελείς σιδηροδρόμους και τις βόλτες με ελέφαντες, την Κίνα και το εμπόριο οπίου, τις ΗΠΑ και την πολιτική αναταραχή, οι δύο τυχοδιώκτες βρίσκονται σε ένα στενό πρόγραμμα για να αποδείξουν ότι η βρετανική υψηλή κοινωνία κάνει λάθος και ο Ντετέκτιβ Φιξ, αποφασισμένος να βρει το δικό του κλέφτη. Θα τα καταφέρουν στην ώρα τους;
